Gestamp is an international automotive part stamping company. Their newest facility southwest of Birmingham is approximately 305,000 square feet with 280,000 square feet dedicated to manufacturing and processes with the remaining 25,000 square feet for administration and office space. The electrical design featured power distribution by way of a 15KV unit substation and 2,500-amp busduct mainly to the 50 processing robotic welding cells. Also included was LED lighting throughout (with daylight controls) and the low voltage systems like fire alarm and data/IT.
