Apprenticeship Program
Ace Electric's registered Apprenticeship Program is a 4-year structured training program that develops skilled electricians through a combination of classroom instruction (624 hours) and on-the-job training (8000 hours). Designed for Employees committed to becoming certified, Journeyman Electrician.
Year 1 — Foundations of the Trade
- OSHA construction safety rules
- Safe work practices as a core expectation from day one
- Principles of electricity and electrical theory
- Basics of electrical systems
- Introduction to digital multimeter applications
- Introduction to the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Foundational knowledge needed to understand more complex Code requirements
Year 2 — Wiring Methods and Core NEC Application
- Continued study of OSHA construction safety rules
- Focused study of NEC Chapters 1, 2, and 3
- Alternating current equipment fundamentals
- Residential wiring methods and practices
- Commercial wiring methods and practices
- Expanded Code application for real-world installations
Year 3 — Industrial Applications and Specialized Systems
- Additional OSHA construction safety rules
- Study of NEC Chapter 4
- Common industrial applications, methods, and requirements
- Motors and motor controls
- Hazardous locations
- Special applications
- Introduction to Solar (PV)/Photovoltaic systems
- Introduction to Energy Storage Systems

Year 4 — Advanced Code and Professional Preparation
- Advanced Code calculations in detail
- Electrical estimating
- Review of electrical theory
- Review of motor controls
- Additional OSHA construction safety rules
