Electrician to Foreman

Electrician to Foreman

The Electrician to Foreman Pathway is a structured development track designed to prepare high-potential Electricians for leadership roles in the field. Built collaboratively by veteran Superintendents, Foremen, and divisional leaders, this pathway provides the clarity, tools, and coaching needed to confidently step into the role of Foreman at Ace Electric.

Participants are selected by their division leadership and paired with an experienced Foreman who will serve as their mentor throughout the program. Each step is intentional, hands-on, and aligned with Ace Electric’s operational excellence standards and Must Win Battles.

Program Purpose

This pathway equips emerging leaders with the skills needed to:

  • Ensure safety as a top priority
  • Lead crews effectively
  • Manage workflow and productivity
  • Communicate clearly with teams, clients, and project leadership
  • Demonstrate Ace Electric’s culture, expectations, and high standards

Program Structure

The Electrician to Foreman Pathway follows the four-pillar structure of the Career Pathway Program:

  1. Instructor-Led Workshop Series
Participants attend a multi-part workshop series that introduces the Foreman role, expectations, essential leadership skills, and core operational responsibilities.
  2. Structured Job Shadowing & Mentorship
Electricians work side-by-side with their Foreman mentor, observing and practicing real-world tasks such as scheduling, material management, crew leadership, and site documentation.
  3. Supplemental Online Coursework
Role-specific online training reinforces key concepts, including safety, communication, planning, and leadership fundamentals.
  4. Monthly Career Development Coaching
Grounded in John Maxwell leadership principles, these sessions help participants grow self-awareness, accountability, and decision-making skills essential to leading a crew.

Individual Development Plan (IDP)

Each participant receives a customized IDP outlining:

  • Required competencies
  • Hands-on tasks and shadowing activities
  • Monthly mentor check-ins
  • Required training modules
  • Progress milestones and skill demonstrations

This roadmap ensures growth is structured, measurable, and aligned with division expectations.
